Research for Better Cancer Treatments
Access to New Therapies
Cancer medicine is constantly evolving. New medications and treatment methods are continuously researched and tested to make therapies more effective and better tolerated.
At the Tumor Zentrum Aargau, our physicians have been participating in clinical trials and scientific research projects for many years. This enables us to provide our patients with access to new treatment options while offering care based on the latest scientific evidence.
Significance for our patients
New treatment options within clinical trials
Clinical trials investigate new medications, new combinations of existing therapies, or new treatment strategies. The goal is to further improve cancer treatments.
For patients, participation in a study can represent an additional treatment option in certain situations. At the same time, clinical trials contribute to the further development of knowledge regarding cancer treatments.
Whether participation in a study is possible or advisable is always assessed individually in consultation with the treating physicians.
Participation in clinical trials
Voluntary participation following detailed consultation
Participation in a clinical trial is always voluntary. Prior to potential participation, patients are informed in detail about the objectives, procedures, possible benefits, and risks.
Only after this briefing do patients decide, together with their treating physicians, whether participation is an option.
Should you choose to participate in a study, you will be closely supported by both your treating physician and our study team. We are always available to answer your questions.
