Medical coordination within the team
Tumor board: Interdisciplinary decision-making
In the tumor board, all available findings are jointly evaluated and placed into a comprehensive medical context.
The foundation includes histopathological results, radiological imaging, relevant laboratory parameters, and the patient’s clinical situation.
Case assessment is performed interdisciplinarily, involving the participating specialist disciplines – typically Medical Oncology, Radiotherapy, surgical specialists, Internal Medicine, Palliative Care, and, depending on the specific question, other specialized departments.
Collaboration and Organization
Involving your patients and organisational process
Patients can be actively referred to the tumor board by referring physicians, including relevant preliminary findings and specific questions. If required, participation in the discussions is possible.
Case assessments are conducted in regular, indication-specific tumor boards with the involvement of the participating specialist disciplines. The results are documented and reported back promptly for further treatment coordination.
